There are "rumors on the internets" that Davis is after that seat and would attempt to give his current seat to his wife. Interesting.
I wonder what effect the recent release of all those Abramoff-related e-mail messages by Davis's committee will have. Somehow, I doubt that Davis is going to get credit as an honest reformer. I wouldn't be surprised if Davis's Republican puppet masters are going to punish him (whether he really deserves it or not) for not preventing the release. I don't know why they'd want to reward him with Allen's place on the ballot if Allen drops out. The momentum is all in Webb and Hurst's direction and time is running out. If Virginia Republicans get so desperate as to put Davis in Allen's place and Davis's wife in Davis's place, I look forward to the end of the political careers of all three.
